Houston's new head coach Tony Levine won't be altering Houston's philosophy of running a high-powered, high-scoring offense, and his new coaching staff will reflect a dedicated towards keeping the Cougars' version of the Air Raid intact.
According to the Houston Chronicle, Levine has hired Stephen F. Austin offensive coordinator Mike Nesbitt to hold the same position at UH, as well as Jamie Christensen from Arizona State to fill Levine's previous role as special teams coordinator. Nesbitt has run an Air Raid offense for the duration of his time as an offensive coordinator, placing SFA in the Top 15 of total offense every year he's been with the Lumberjacks.
The Cougars also lost a member of staff - in addition to the assistants former head coach Kevin Sumlin took with him to Texas A&M - when co-offensive coordinator Jason Phillips joined SMU's staff for a position with his mentor June Jones.
