HOUSTON - Rick Smith is in the midst of his sixth season as general manager of the Texans and his first as executive vice president of the franchise.
Smith is the architect of the Texans roster, which has provided the incredible depth the team has needed this year after being decimated by injuries.
Whether it is through the free agent market, the draft or street free agents, Smith has found creative ways to get it done and enable the Texans to become AFC South Division champions and earn their first trip to the playoffs.
