Kyle Lowry currently leads the NBA in assists with 11.0 per game to go along with his scoring average of 15.0 per game. Can he keep it up?
Jan 4, 2012 - With Goran Dragic unable to return to the NBA due to the contract he signed overseas, its given Kyle Lowry every opportunity he ever needed to take the point guard position by the horns for the Houston Rockets this season. in five games this season, he's averaging a double-double in both points and assists, and its getting noticed by the national media. Per Chris Palmer of ESPN The Magazine, Lowry's dime rate is at an all-time high:
Kyle Lowry leading the league in assists (11.5 per game) by a full assist. Sure, it's been only four games and he could drop from the leaders with a couple of down games, but it's a surprise nonetheless. Look at it like this: There are a ton of great assist men in this league, and Lowry is the guy handing out the ball at the best clip so far.
Lowry and the Rockets will take on the two-time assists champion Chris Paul and the Los Angeles Clippers this Wednesday night.
