HOUSTON - The agent for Houston Texans offensive tackle Duane Brown told FOX 26 Sports the $7,500 fine assessed against his client for allegedly throwing a punch at Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Clint Session on Oct. 30 has been rescinded by the NFL.
Brown appealed the fine and the league agreed with him.
"With Duane Brown, through the infamous punch that didn't happen, they rescinded the fine and agreed with us that Duane was not punching the opponent," said Andy Ross, Brown's agent.
Brown, who had been in on the tackle of Session after he returned a fumble, has said that he used his left arm to brace himself as he fell after being pushed, and did not throw a punch.
The NFL had fined Brown for unnecessary rougness.
The NFL's appeals process set the record straight.
"I think that it just shows the true character of Duane," Ross said. "He's a hard player, but he plays within the rules."
