LAS VEGASâ€"Houston Rockets guard Kyle Lowry is facing a misdemeanor battery charge amid accusations that he threw a basketball at a referee and threatened her during a game in Las Vegas.

The criminal complaint says the 25-year-old NBA player was taunting Infini Robinson while she was officiating a game between NBA players Sept. 22. Police say he threw the ball at her torso and cursed at her when the game ended.

Robinson was hit by another basketball while she was changing her shoes in an area designated for officials.

Witnesses said Lowry was verbally abusive and confrontational to the woman.

The report says Lowry later apologized, saying he let his emotions get the best of him.

Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey says he is aware of the complaint but is not commenting on the legal matter.
