Texas A&M Vs. Kansas: The Aggies Season Is On The Brink

After a disappointing 11-7 start under first-year coach Billy Kennedy, the Texas A&M Aggies are running out of chances to get on the NCAA Tournament bubble.

They'll have their biggest opportunity of the season Monday night, when they travel to Lawrence to play the No. 7 Kansas Jayhawks on Monday night.

Under Bill Self, Kansas has been nearly unbeatable at home, as they had a 69-game winning streak at the Allen Field Hose snapped last season.

The Jayhawks are going for their eighth consecutive Big 12 title this year, with Thomas Robinson emerging as an All-American candidate in the middle while Tyshawn Taylor and Elijah Johnson provide offense from the perimeter.

The Aggies were supposed to be one of Kansas' main challengers this year, but they've been derailed by Kennedy's untimely diagnosis with Parkinson's as well as star forward Khris Middleton's early-season knee injury, an d now their school record streak of six consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances is in jeopardy.

A win in Lawrence on national TV would go a long way towards changing that, however, a loss would drop them to 2-5 in Big 12 play and eliminate any margin for error to becoming an at-large team.

The 8:00 PM game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
