The Houston Texans are coming off the best season in franchise history with a division title and a playoff win in 2011. The team is expecting bigger and better things this year.

KVUE will be the new home of the Houston Texans' preseason games. A two-year agreement states that KVUE will carry at least two of the team's preseason games live in 2012 and 2013.

“We are excited to add the top-rated news station in Austin to our regional broadcasting team for preseason Houston Texans football,” said Texans President Jamey Rootes. “Austin is a very important market for us and our relationship with KVUE will allow us to connect directly with the broadest audience possible as we work hard to serve our large and loyal base of current Texans fans and build relationships with new fans in Central Texas.”

“KVUE is very proud to partner with the Houston Texans by airing their preseason games on KVUE. We know that there are a significant number of fans here in Central Texas that will appreciate seeing the games in high definition, and we’re happy to provide them with this coverage," KVUE’s President and General Manager Patti C. Smith said.

Defensive back Danieal Manning and utility player James Casey spoke to KVUE about how things are going with the Texans.

The team will play Carolina on Saturday, Aug. 11 and San Francisco on Saturday, Aug. 18. Both games will be aired live on KVUE.
