Houston Rockets possibly shopping their two first-round picks - Space City Scoop

The Houston Rockets are reportedly interested in trading their two first-round picks in this year’s NBA Draft according to Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress.com

“This pick is widely assumed to be in play, as the Rockets have a number of young prospects on their roster and may not be looking to bring two more rookies into the fold. Regardless of whether its them making the pick, Tyler Zeller is a safe bet to come off the board at this stage, as he’s simply too big, talented and productive not to have an impact on someone’s rotation.”

I can’t say that im surprised. The Rockets already have a very young, inexperienced team. This draft is very deep, but if they can land a star or two by trading the picks then it’s more than worth it.

The Rockets could use a stud post player. They’re still being linked to Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard. With GM Daryl Morey in charge i wouldn’t be surprised if they land a big name no one expected them to be able to get. That’s just how Morey works.

They’re going to need a backup point guard after they decide on Kyle Lowry or Goran Dragic. I still believe Kevin Martin will be moved at some point. Chase Budinger will most likely be moved to make way for Marcus Morris. I think Luis Scola is on his way out after having a down year and with Donatas Motiejunas on his way in. Marcus Camby wants to retire as a Rocket and i think he should but only as a backup, which means Samuel Dalembert needs to be moved as well.

Since Tyler Zeller or Perry Jones mostly likely will land at the 14th or 16th spot The Rockets should only trade the picks if it’s to move up in the draft or if it involves a star. I think Zeller and Jones are going to be above avaerage players in this league.

Get ready Rockets fans, It’s going to be an exciting offseason.
