San Francisco Giants Vs. Houston Astros 6/12/12: Tyrone's Free MLB Baseball Pick - Sports Chat Place

The 26-34 Houston Astros visit the 34-27 San Francisco Giants trying to do what their brother the 35-26 Texas Rangers were able to do on Sunday and that is win a series at AT&T Park. SF was stopped 5-0 by Texas in the rubber match. The only Giants to get a hit were Aubrey Huff, Angel Pagan and Nate Schierholtz.

Houston took two of three at the 33-27 Chicago White Sox on Sunday with a thrilling 11-9 win. The Astros trailed once, but had a response right away with Justin Maxwell's home run. J.D. Martinez and Maxwell put Houston ahead early 2-0.

The Astros added to their 4-3 lead during the sixth inning with five runs. Houston housed runs courtesy of a Jose Altuve RBI-single, Altuve stealing home, Chris Snyder RBI-double and Brett Wallace HR. Altuve's two-run HR to begin the eighth put the Astros ahead 11-4.

Houston and San Francisco send out 5-3 Bud Norris with a 4.65 ERA and 7-4 Madison Bumgarner with a 3.26 ERA to the hill on Tuesday. Norris is 2-2 on the road with the Astros 3-3 in away appearances when he's tossed. The 24-35 Colorado Rockies crushed Norris for nine runs during 1.2 innings on May 31. Conversely three weeks earlier the 32-27 Pittsburgh Pirates fell 1-0 to Norris who went six scoreless. April away games were more of the same bludgeoning Colorado dished out for Norris getting trashed for 15 runs, 14 earned, during 17.2 innings.

The Giants are 10-for-35 with five RBIs, three from Melky Cabrera, against Norris. Bumgarner goes next for SF who is 4-1 with him throwing at AT&T. The 20-40 Chicago Cubs, 28-32 Milwaukee Brewers, 29-33 Philadelphia Phillies and 20-41 San Diego Padres wrote in six runs during 26.1 innings of four losses to Bumgarner who lost 4-1 to the 31-30 St. Louis Cardinals on May 16. Houston is 12-for-34 with seven RBIs, four from Martinez, versus Bumgarner. As hard as it is to go against Bumgarner the Astros are an appetizing pick on the Money Line with the Giants a considerable favorite.
