Texans Vs. Ravens: Baltimore's Joe Flacco Lashes Out At His Critics, Again

Joe Flacco has developed a certain spiciness to his sound bites in recent months, but then again, when you're the quarterback of a perrenial AFC power yet constantly dissected, criticized and deemed to be merely the beneficiary of a strong running game and league-leading defense, you get a case of the sass mouth.

Flacco continued the grudge he's carried at least since the season's start - and through headline making moments throughout the year - when claimed the Ravens' media pool and the national football writers at large would find a way to ignore his contributions regardless of Baltimore's play on the field (PLUS bonus attitude-induced facial hair!)

"It's really going to come down to what team is the best," he said. "I'm sure if we win, I'll have nothing to do with why we won, according to you guys."

Flacco decided a few weeks ago to grow a Fu Manchu mustache, and the resulting patch of facial hair has left him open to criticism of a different kind. Some people like it, others hate it. Almost no one is indifferent.

"People will get going with anything, no matter how crazy it is," Flacco said. "You figured something was going to happen with it, good or bad. It's not really my personality to have something like this on my face, but you just have a little fun and see how people take it."
