LEXINGTON LEGENDS (Houston Astros)

Three Legends to watch

RHP Mike Foltynewicz: The No. 3 or 4 pitching prospect in the Astros farm system, depending on the scouting service, is in the midst of a breakthrough season. The 20-year-old was the 19th overall pick in the 2010 draft, and he went 5-11 with a 4.97 ERA in Lexington last year. He comes to town 7-1 with a 2.14 ERA, and his only loss was opening day against the Hoppers. If the rotation holds, the all-star would start Saturday.

RHP Dayan Diaz: The 23-year-old Colombian took over the closer’s role when Jason Chowning was promoted, and he has flourished (4-2, 0.94 ERA, 4 saves, 32 Ks in 29 innings). The league is batting .152 against him.

2B Delino DeShields Jr.: The No. 10 prospect in the Astros system according to Baseball America, the 20-year-old son of a former major leaguer is batting .302 with five multi-hit games in his last 10. DeShields leads the Sally League with 37 stolen bases, caught just five times.
