2012 NFL Mock Draft: Houston Texans Could Be Looking At Notre Dame WR Michael Floyd

In the latest mock draft from SBNation, and the first one since the early entrant deadline for college players, Ryan Van Bibber has the Houston Texans taking WR Michael Floyd of Notre Dame at No. 26:

Andre Johnson's absence during the regular season hurt the Texans, especially with T.J. Yates at quarterback. Adding Floyd diversifies an offense that couldn't get the points it needed in Sunday's loss to the Ravens.

Johnson missed significant playing time for the first time in his NFL career this season, and his absence exposed a glaring weakness in the Texans passing attack, as none of Houston's other WR's could get much going without all the defensive attention Johnson commanded.

Floyd, a 6'3 225 senior WR, has been a dominant figure in South Bend ever since stepping on campus, averaging 9 TD's a year as well as going over 1,000 yards in each of the last two seasons.

However, he has had some serious alcohol issues in college which almost got him kicked off the team, and NFL teams are likely to do some in-depth investigation of his background before committing millions of dollars in guaranteed money to him as a first-round draft pick.
