Jarred Cosart, George Springer and Jonathan Singleton all made Scout.com's preseason Minor League rankings top 100, coming in at 25, 33 and 39.
Singleton had a so-so season at Lakewood, but put up some very even numbers at Lancaster (not overtly assisted with only 4 home runs and a slash line of .333/.405/.512). Cosart meanwhile slots in just behind the recently traded Jarrod Parker, but in front of the Yankees Dellin Betances, Baltimore's Dylan Bundy, Arizona's Trevor Bauer and Kansas City's Mike Montgommery. Consider also that of the 24 in front of him, half finished the year at the same or at a lower level.
Cosart could join Jordan Lyles, who checked in at 73 last year, and Bud Norris in a revamped rotation at some point in 2012. Jeff Luhnow must be hoping that if he deals Wandy Rodriguez, he can get pitching in return. If someone like Mark Appel is drafted, the earliest the Astros could hope to see him in the majors (and this is being optimistic) is 2014.
