Texans/Bengals Playoff Preps: QB T.J. Yates on schedule to Start

HOUSTON -

Texans rsookie Quarterback T.J. Yates is being monitored but Head Coach Gary Kubiak believes he will be good to go Saturday in the Texans playoff opener againts the Bengals.

The Texans first playoff game will be live on KPRC-Local 2 at 3:30pm.  Coverage begins Saturday morning on KPRC and throughout the day and evening.

On the Bengals, Kubiak said:

"They are a heck of a team, they are playing well. They will come in here ready to play against us.  They are a physical football team."

On his Texans being prepared for the Playoffs:

"They'll see a difference on the speed of play on Saturday. Antonio got it started when he talked to the team. It'll take 2 or 3 plays and they'll see the tempo will go up."

Kubiak on Bengals:

"They ran the ball on us and gave it to their young receiver.  In 2nd half we stopped the run , got a turnover and played much better. People have spread us out and thrown it around. If that happens we better get to the quarterback"

Kubiak on T.J. Yates

"I have a lot of confience in him. This time of the year you have to play well for four quarters. You won't be able to get away with what we did at Cincy.  Yesterday is indication we are getting back to ourselves."

Kubiak on 3 game losing streak:

"We haven't been at our best.  We've had a ton of adjustments past 4 or 5 weeks. We've lost two close games past two weeks. We have to let it go and start over."

Kubiak's playoff experience:

"It's our first time together. All that was somewhere else with a different team. There's no film to watch if you don't win. It's over. Guys should be upbeat and confident.  Me as coach getting them to do what they do best.  You can't overcoach.  Having coaches with playoff experience is a huge help."
