Former Astros player Jose Cruz is one of seven individuals the Houston Astros will induct into the team's new Walk of Fame Tuesday.

Former Astros player Jose Cruz is one of seven individuals the Houston Astros will induct into the team's new Walk of Fame Tuesday.

The Houston Astros  will honor the first inductees to their new Walk of Fame in a ceremony Tuesday afternoon.

The first official inductees include Hall of Fame broadcasters Milo Hamilton and Gene Elston, former Colt .45s/Astros third baseman Bob Aspromonte, former Colt .45s/Astros players Larry Dierker and Jimmy Wynn, former Astros player Jose Cruz and Astros television broadcaster Bill Brown.

The 13 players in team history to have their numbers retired are also being inducted Tuesday and will be represented by Jose Cruz, Larry Dierker and Jimmy Wynn. The ceremony was to begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Texas Avenue sidewalk outside Minute Maid Park.

The team will again honor its history by wearing replicas of the former Colt .45 jersey in home games Tuesday and April 20. The jersey, worn when the Major League Baseball club was named the Colt .45s in the first three years of its existence, included a pistol below the name “Colts” across the chest of the uniform.
