Kyle Lowry wants Houston Rockets changes or else - SportingNews.com

Kyle Lowry is disgruntled and says if his desires aren’t met, he wants out of the Houston Rockets.

The Houston Chronicle reports Lowry is unhappy about the splitting playing time with Goran Dragic at point guard. He also doesn’t feel confident about his relationship with coach Kevin McHale. Coming off sports hernia and torn abductor muscle surgery, Lowry said he doesn’t know whether he will return to the team.

“I don’t think so,” Lowry, 26, told the Houston Chronicle. “I honestly think it would be tough. Things have to be addressed. The situation would have to be addressed. If things aren’t addressed coaching-wise, I guess I have to be moved.”

McHale was apparently caught off guard by Lowry’s comments. Not surprisingly, he doesn’t agree with Lowry’s outlook.

“That’s very surprising,” McHale told the paper. “I don’t think we had too much of a problem coexisting this year. Everybody has a little beef every once in a while. I don’t feel like (there were problems). He apparently did.

“There were times that we didn’t agree on things. There were times that I got on him. I don’t think it was unduly harsh on anybody.”

Dragic is an unrestricted free agent and would like to run a team’s offense. Houston general manager Daryl Morey said the Rockets intend to sign Dragic. While Lowry has no personal animosity with his fellow point guard, he wants as much time on the court as he can get.

“We’re both capable starters,” Lowry said. “We both want it. It’s going to be a situation where they make a decision on one of us.”
