The Houston Texans are keeping quiet on the status of Pro bowl running back Arian Foster, as heâs a game-time decision with an knee injury. Texans linebacker Brooks Reed is also a game-time call as both players missed practice earlier this week with their injuries â" Reedâs being a hip injury.
Texans head coach Gary Kubiak did state to the media that he felt had he asked Foster to practice earlier int he week, heâd have gone out and practiced. But for the sake of the Texans Super Bowl aspirations in 2012, Foster was best kept resting on the bench leading up to week one, rather than in situations that could keep him out of games.
âIf we pushed him (Foster) to practice, he wouldâve went out there and practiced,â Kubiak said. âBut weâre going to be smart with him, but then heâll have to show us heâs ready to go. I think Brooks is a little bit more sore than Arian, as far as going out on the field, but he is also optimistic that heâll be ready to go. But weâll have to test them both.â
Kubiak said that Foster would be tested before the Texans game against the Miami Dolphins at Noon on Sunday, but Foster seemed already sure of what would be decided upon.
Foster simply had this to say in regards to his health: âI expect to play on Sunday.â
