HOUSTON - Houston has a warm, fuzzy feeling about its pro football team. And it’s being expressed in a myriad of ways.

For one thing, people are paying $35 a pop to wear their hearts on their sleeves, in the form of a Texans-Ravens playoffs t-shirt.

“Houston is just such a wonderful place to live,” says fan Georgia Messemer, who bought a handful of shirts. “Everybody's so friendly and we have a great team to bind us all together.”

Beverly Mitchell and her daughter Molly took up the tempera paint to create a giant Houston Texans banner, which now hangs in front of their southwest Houston home.

“Big, big, big Texans fans we are,” says Beverly. “We decided to support them in the best way we could. So Molly made a sign.”

Indeed, there are Texans signs all over town. And plenty of room on the team’s bandwagon for a bevy of special offers, geared to Sunday’s big game.

“It's a feline football frenzy,” says the Houston SPCA’s Meera Nandlal. “So -- Friday, Saturday and Sunday -- when you adopt a cat six-months and older, it's just six dollars. And for an extra point, you can adopt another cat, six months and older, for just a dollar.”

Cats and the Houston Texans have two things in common: both seem to have nine lives.

And both are capable of devouring Ravens.

“Oh, you know you're gonna win, baby,” coos fan Felix Lizcano, right after snagging a playoffs t-shirt. “You know the Texans are gonna win. I'm guessing 36-17.”

Beverly Mitchell is prepared to prognosticate even further into the future.

“We're gonna mortgage the house, go to the Superbowl,” she proclaims. “You bet!”
