Voters' comments about Houston Texans for AP Pro32 - Washington Post

NEW YORK â€" Comments on the Houston Texans by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

HOUSTON TEXANS (6)

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 2): Texans claimed first division title and playoff berth in 2011; if they can get healthy seasons from QB Matt Schaub and WR Andre Johnson, this season should be much, much better.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 3): Wade Phillips has worked wonders with this defense.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 3): If quarterback Matt Schaub had stayed healthy in 2011, fierce defense would have led Texans into Super Bowl.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 5): A threat to reach first Super Bowl if Matt Schaub, Andre Johnson, and Arian Foster can stay healthy.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 5): Let’s see what happens with Matt Schaub back in lineup.

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 6): Can Texans build on last season’s success?

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 8): Texans have all signs of team that is ready to bust out. All they need is good health and little luck.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 9): Wade Phillips is magician with that defense. Johnathan Joseph was key.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 9): Offensive line should not start out as good as it was last year. Tennessee is closing gap in AFC South.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 10): AFC South is Texans’ for the taking again, and Matt Schaub’s return from foot injury makes them solid favorites.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 10): Young and talented team gets very underrated QB back this year in Matt Schaub and has shown it can play through injury.

Chris Berman (ESPN, 12): Raised eyebrows despite all the injuries.
