With the recent 114-106 win over the Washington Wizards, the Houston Rockets (6-7) have put themselves in a good position. After some early season struggles, the Rockets have won three straight and look to take of business versus some easier competition in the next few games.
On Tom Ziller's NBA Power Rankings that were released early Monday, he has the Rockets at No. 18.
Take note of the following, the Rockets are good enough to give anyone a game in this NBA this season. Of course, the Rockets are also bad enough to lose to anyone in the NBA. That's what a new head coach, a mash-up of talent and a crazy schedule will do to you.
A couple of takeaways for the road following the Rockets vs. Wizards clash:
- Rockets swingman Courtney Lee missed his eighth straight game with a strained right calf.
- Houston coach Kevin McHale fired Washingtonâs Flip Saunders when he was general manager of the Minnesota Timberwolves in February 2005. It was their first on-court meeting as NBA coaches.
- The Rockets have held double-digit leads in their last six games. Last year, they never had double-digit leads in more than five straight.
