Texans take on Ravens in Baltimore

WEB Texans-Ravens HOUSTON -

The Houston Texans continue their road to the Super Bowl by making a stop in Baltimore Sunday.

The Texans (11-6) are in the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. They won their first-ever playoff game at Reliant Stadium 31-10 over the Cincinnati Bengals on Jan. 7.

The Ravens (12-4) were off during wild-card weekend after earning a first round bye and winning the AFC North title.

The Texans and Ravens last met on Oct. 16, a 29-14 Baltimore victory at home. The Texans have changed a bit since then, most notably at quarterback, where T.J. Yates has taken over for injured Matt Schaub.

Baltimore relies heavily on running back Ray Rice and a defensive unit led by Pro Bowl linebackers Ray Lewis and Terrell Suggs. Houston depends on the rushing prowess of Arian Foster and the NFL's second-ranked defense.

Neither team intends to change that approach Sunday, so the one that stays true to form the longest during their playoff matchup will likely advance to the AFC championship game.

The Ravens respect Yates and the breakaway speed of wide receiver Andre Johnson, but they figure their best chance to win is to bottle up Foster and force the Texans to throw.

Houston hopes to stop Rice, Baltimore's main offensive threat.

The high temperature in Baltimore Sunday is expected to be 37 degrees with no chance of precipitation.

The game begins at noon.
