Auburn Interested In Texans QB Coach Greg Knapp As Candidate For Offensive Coordinator

According to The Houston Chronicle's John McClain, the Auburn Tigers are interested in Houston Texans quarterback coach Greg Knapp as their new offensive coordinator.

Knapp has college football experience as the running backs coach, wide receivers coach and offensive coordinator for the Sacramento State Hornets from 1986 to 1994 before moving on to the NFL. He's been the offensive coordinator of four NFL teams, the 49ers, Falcons, Raiders and Seahawks, before being hired as the quarterback coach for the Texans before the 2010 season.

In 2011, Knapp helped coach rookie T.J. Yates, who was the team's starting quarterback after Week 12 thanks to season-ending injuries to both Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart, to four wins, including the team's first playoff victory in franchise history.
