HOUSTON - Houston Texans running back Arian Foster has elected not to play in the Pro Bowl on Jan. 29 in Hawaii because of a foot injury, but his agent said it is nothing serious.
"Arian suffered an injury in the game against the Ravens," said Mike McCartney, Foster's agent, in an interview with FOX 26 Sports. "It doesn't look like a long-term injury at all, but it did put him in jeopardy at the Pro Bowl.
"I think the safe thing was for him to miss the game. He's definitely disappointed. He wanted to go represent the AFC in the Pro Bowl, but it's more important he's healthy for next year."
Foster finished fifth in the NFL in rushing with 1224 yards and that was after missing three games and a large portion of another.
After games against the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens, Foster set the NFL record for rushing yardage (285) for a player in his first two games in the playoffs.
He broke the record (278) set by Duane Thomas of the Dallas Cowboys in 1970.
